My name is Dwight David Eisenhower, but most people call me Ike. I was born on October 14, 1890 to David and Ida Eisenhower. I was raised in Abiliene, Kansas as a Presbyterian. Out of high school I went to United States Military Acadamy and Army War College. I became a five star war general and served in both World Wars. I also have a passion for cooking. My specialties are vegetable soup, steak, and cornmeal pancakes. Though I had no previous experience in politics I ran for president in November of 1952. I chose my buddy Richard Nixon as my Vice President. I was elected preident January 20,1953 and was in office until January 20, 1961. As a Republican, I was conservative and due to my previous career in the army, I supported a strong military defense.
